News! Alpha Omega Translations Now Uses memoQ

April 23, 2013 |

memoQAlpha Omega Translations (AOT) is pleased to announce that we have purchased memoQ, the world’s most advanced translation environment for translators and reviewers.

memoQ won the Institution of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) Best Translation Software 2011 Award and has been rated #1 in translation systems by Common Sense Advisory.

We added memoQ technology to the mix for several reasons:

Faster delivery time. The memoQ system allows several translators and reviewers to work on the same set of documents at the same time and still provide the same consistency and quality that a single person would. The project can be up and running within an hour.

Flexibility to work with a large variety of file formats. memoQ processes a variety of file formats including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, XML, HTML, Adobe InDesign, Adobe FrameMaker, DITA, and RESX. memoQ easily integrates with third-party tools to translate documents, website content and software. The software is also full customizable and Kilray Translation Technologies, the company that makes memoQ, provides reliable support services.

More control and better consistency. Need 500 files translated into 17 languages? memoQ’s project management system provides coordinated multi-language translation from a large team of translators working together at the same time. Existing translations (memories) provide better quality translations; terminology databases ensure better technical flow and more consistent language from one project to the next. memoQ also provides an overview of what has been delivered and what hasn’t, what’s overdue and what is still in process.

State-of-art technology. Kilgray Translation Technologies, the makers of memoQ, maintains a five-year product roadmap. memoQ now has innovative translation technology: LiveDocs, real-time previews, offline synchronization, knowledge bases, moderated term bases, translation memory-driven segmentation, post translation analysis and the translation resource server.

In addition to memoQ, we also use SDLTrados and WordFast. These systems are top-notch for implementing memories of previously translated material and help translators provide consistent copy. All of these systems are integrated into our workflow, and can be connected to our translators’ systems. This multi-system integration also lets us crowdsource the translation request — meaning we can gather many translators to work on an urgent project.

We at AOT are committed to maintaining a high level of client satisfaction and efficiency. Now that we have added memoQ to our toolbox, you can expect continued speed of turnaround time on projects and excellent quality of service.
