Desktop Publishing and Design
Desktop Publishing
Alpha Omega Translations provides Desktop Publishing services involving all of the major DTP programs on the market. We take your existing English electronic files, in DTP programs such as Adobe PageMaker, QuarkXpress, etc. and replace the English text with the foreign language text in such a manner that layout is maintained.
We have the industry-standard and internally developed tools, human talent, and experience to get any project successfully completed on schedule, within budget, and with the quality you and your customers require. If you have multilingual desktop-publishing needs in InDesign®, Quark®, PageMaker®, Frame®, Illustrator® or any other application, then Alpha Omega Translations is the solution to your needs.
Foreign language desktop publishing is required if documents require more advanced formatting or layout than is possible using standard word processors. We offer you our foreign language graphics expertise.
Alpha Omega Translations can offer foreign language design and multilingual desktop publishing (DTP) services in a wide range of languages. This is supported by a wide variety of fonts and applications able to handle almost all languages and writing systems. When non-Roman scripts are required (in particular Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean), Alpha Omega Translations can supply files in a graphics format where clients do not require specialized fonts or systems to display and print the published text.
We match our native-speaking graphic artists and DTP specialists with their target language (i.e. a Japanese DTP specialist works only on Japanese projects) so the page layout appears as if it were created within the target country. But our rigorous quality control doesn’t stop there. Our translators check every word before it leaves our office to ensure the very highest level of quality assurance.
We are able to offer a quality foreign language graphics service, because our multilingual DTP is carried out by an experienced graphics team working in close co-ordination with the translators and editors responsible for the linguistic side of the job. All artwork is signed off by the original translator, the desktop publisher, and the project manager to ensure consistency of layout between languages, compliance with client instructions and, most importantly, to guarantee that the foreign-language text is intact and properly laid out.
Proofreading by foreign language editor
Our linguists review your final edited and typeset document to make sure that all edits have been made by the typesetter and that no new formatting errors have occurred during typesetting. We cross-check the table of contents against headers, check footers and headers, make sure pagination is accurate, and do a character-for-character read of the copy to make sure it’s error-free before sending to the printer.
